Make the Most of that First Impression

As a homeowner, you can play an important part in the timely sale of your property. When you take the following steps you’ll help your RE/MAX Sales Associate sell your home faster, at the best possible price.
It is vital that you keep your home in “showing” condition every day. First impressions are important and remember a potential buyer comes to every showing!

Take a critical view of your dwelling from the road. How would a stranger perceive the condition of your house? Many a potential buyer has driven past a house which may be superb in the inside, but just doesn’t have that right appearance from the outside.

Improve the Curb Appeal!
  1. Keep the lawn freshly mowed and the edges neatly trimmed.
  2. Tidy up the garden and surrounds. Rake up those old leaves that were missed last fall.
  3. Trim the hedges and shrubs and thin out any overgrown brush. It may be worthwhile to call in a landscaper to give the yard a once over.
  4. It’s too late to establish a garden, but put in some pots of shrubs and window boxes can be a good investment which you can always take with you to your new home.
  5. Get rid of old trash and rusty swing sets. Now’s a good time to dispose of granny’s old jalopy that you were going to do up when you had some spare time.
  6. A freshly painted – or at least freshly scrubbed – front door will welcome prospects.
  7. Make sure the gutters are clean. Check the gutters and roof for dry rot.
